Mr. Ryan has extensive trial experience defending against claims of medical, nursing, and hospital negligence; medical device and other products liability; and first- and third-party insurance coverage. He also represents physicians and other health care providers before professional licensing boards, from informal inquiries to formal disciplinary hearings. Although some 95% of his practice focuses on litigation, Mr. Ryan often presents lectures and seminars to nurses, risk managers, physicians, and allied health care professionals on a variety of issues, recognizing that litigation can best be managed, if not prevented, through thoughtful preparation and institution of risk-reducing strategies. After graduating from law school, Mr. Ryan accepted a position with the Court of Appeals for the Third District of Texas as a briefing attorney for the Honorable Bea Ann Smith. Mr. Ryan became a partner with the Firm in 2005.
