Russ Schell has successfully tried over 200 state and federal court cases to jury verdict in urban and rural communities throughout Texas. He has tried cases in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Washington and Oregon; and has argued numerous appellate matters before the Texas Court of Appeal, the Texas Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeal. His verdict success ratio exceeds 95%. Mr. Schell has been a lecturer for the Continuing Legal Education Institute of the State Bar of Texas, for the University of Houston School of Law, and has served as instructor of civil trial practice for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, American Board of trial Advocates and the Dallas Bar Association Practice Skills Course. Healthcare industry and risk management associations frequently request his professional presentations on current legal issues. He is recognized as a Texas Monthly Magazine “Super Lawyer” in the Health Care Law practice specialty. Areas of emphasis and special expertise include labor and delivery/neonatal injury, spine surgery, Emergency Room and malicious credentialing actions. His significant representation of the drug and medical device industries includes numerous trials involving cardiovascular and orthopedic devices, urologic products and reconstructive implants. Mr. Schell was a national lead trial counsel for a manufacturer in the silicone breast implant litigation, and tried three such cases to verdict. Mr. Schell’s commercial litigation practice includes complex insurance contract actions, extracontractural damage actions and employment disputes.
